Granny's Story Time- March
Robin Hop
Inside the nursery, peeps frantically sweep across the rooms. Granny whizzed past them and grabbed her storybook. "Today we will hear a story that not many know, so sit cozily, and open your earlobes, and listen to this fairytale.
"Once upon a time, a little robin was born in the winter. She was not allowed to play out in the snow. Her mother cradled her in her arms, and quietly, Robin said,'Mother, I have heard much about spring. I am going to find it. I suppose it's bored and wants to play. Can I try to wake it up?' Mother said, 'Dear, spring is a thing that you cannot wake. Now go to sleep.' The next morning, Robin went down her tree. She ran quickly across the cold snow, and got back to the sidewalk. She started thinking about how spring played, and she hopped. She hopped and hopped and hopped and hopped. After she hopped many times, she started to see blades of grass, and she started to feel warmer. After so many hops, a butterfly appeared. She hopped till the end of the day, and it was almost spring. The next morning, little buds on the trees appeared. It was spring! The end."
"Can that really happen, Granny?" asked Angela. "No, dear. That could never happen. Or could it?" They all started hopping on the sidewalk outside. "I guess we should just take things the slow way." said Mary.
