DECEMBER 2014!!!!!!!!!!

Merry Christmas, and Happy Hanukkah

Everyone is getting out their Christmas decorations and Hanukkah traditions. Everyone is getting out their Christmas movies and Christmas songs and Christmas wreaths. " 'Tis the season!" says Betty. Ellen has already started going Christmas shopping with her friends. Betty Boop has a group of 'Angels' walking around the neighborhood, giving the poor chickens hot chocolate and Christmas presents. If they're lucky, the chicks might get a toy to play with! Mostly they give coats, and they make sure they're a little bigger than they should be. Clara doesn't like what Betty Boop has done to the town. There are a few families in town who celebrate Hanukkah. Hazel Quopper enjoys helping out the poor and needy. She likes to sit down and talk with them about the Christmas party she's having. She invited most of the people she met to her party, almost everyone in town is going to be there. She talked to a few Jews on her trip. She always says, "Merry Hanukkah!" and the families say, "Happy Christmas!"

Hero of the Day

Last Sunday, a hero was in our midst! Rebbecca was taking a swim, having fun you know, then, she got frozen in! Drake shouted to the rooster in the pen, "Do something! Do something! She's drowning!" "Big Mamma's coming! Hide!" said Jemima. Drake ran towards her, screaming, "Why couldn't you get here sooner? Poor Rebbecca is about to meet her death!" "Ah! Ah! Drake, save me, she's coming over to me! Well, maybe she's going to save me! Don't touch me! I'll bite you! I can't move! Ah!!! Drake!!! She's petting me!!!! Ah!!!!! Oh no!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She's picking me up!!!!!!!!! Drake, save me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Rebbecca whined. "I'm coming, darling!" said Drake, heroically. Big Momma put Rebbecca on the ground. "I would kill you for the heart attack you just gave me! Well, that would be induckane. I wouldn't want to kill my second wife. Well, I'd still have Jemima." Drake said. "Drake!" scolded Jemima. That's something I should tell the Gossip Committee about. Drake thinks it should be called Heroes of the Day.

Emma's Surprise!

Next week is Emma's Birthday, but nobody knows what she wants for her birthday. Ellie thinks that she wants a house trampoline. Emma said no. Betty thought that she wanted her ears pierced. She said no. Betty Boop thought that she wanted a doctors kit. She said no. Buttercup thinks that she wants a toy kitchen. Emma said yes! Betty's husband is a woodworker, and he built it. Hazel Quopper bought kitchen supplies with all of the money she has. Ellen, Ivy, and Eve painted it. Guy sanded it to make it look rustic. There were lots of different parts of the kitchen. It had a metal sink with a drain and it could have water in it, and a fridge, an island which had little cupboards in it, a stove, and spice cupboards, a window with a scene, and all kinds of stuff. It was the perfect birthday present.

School... Again?

The chicks in Chicken Town are not on track in their school work. The teacher of ABCDE CHICK tries really hard not to get frustrated with the kids. Everyday, the kids come in, set their backpacks in their cubby-corner, fold their jackets, and set their hats down. Then they wash their hands and sit down at the computer desks to write an article for their blogs. Yesterday, they didn't finish their math pages, so they're going to have a little bit of homework to do through the weekend. Ellie hasn't been showing up for school, but Emma has! Della doesn't  have enough money to send her kids to school. She planned on selling all of her mother's jewelery, but she doesn't want to let go of them. Franny moved farther away from Della's home, but we still see her. Lily goes to school. Franny decided to be a stay-at-home-mom. Rick Thumbermill, Franny's husband, is the president of a bank!

Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells

Christmas carolers block the streets this year! I like to listen to the music. The children are raising  money to give to the poor. Wall-e and Eve always pay $100.00 in cash. Drake and Jemima are allowed to be Christmas carolers. Della won't have any part in singing the carols. She doesn't even go to church!  Franny loves humming the tunes as they go around the street. Mr. Lewis visits Franny every day to hear the carols. Mr. Lewis lives far away from the carol area. Franny's house is the best place to listen to the carols. Her house is on Nutkin Drive, the main carol area. Granny sings the songs from the 'Christmas Songs for Tiny Tots' book. The children peep  the song from their tiny little beaks. On school Christmas break, there will be a performance outside. It starts in two weeks! Every day they will tell a story about Jesus, and then, on Christmas Eve, they're going to have a play about the birth of Jesus. Mr. Lewis has a perfect narrating voice. The carolers are still singing right now. :)

Princess Leia and Flower Queen

Princess Leia has come to Chicken Town. Also, the Flower Queen came with her. In Chicken Town, she sells lilies and gardenias and poppies. She has sold a lot of poinsettias. Princess Leia is loving Chicken Town. She meets Chuck, Bomb, Red, Matilda, Stella, and Jay Jake and Jim. Leia and her friends are taking a break from the Star Wars. Leia always takes a break between wars. She has a large tiara and beautiful buns on her sides. Terence just kinda sits to the edge admiring her and the Flower Queen. The Flower Queen can grow vines if she wants to. She helps Princess Leia and her friends fight wars. She sits in an out-of-the-way spot and shoots vines towards the enemies and they get tangled in them. Terence finally said hello to the Flower Queen. Believe it or not, he smiled. He smiled in front of the Flower Queen. Princess Leia walked by, and Terence waved to her. He tried to bow, but he was too hefty! Leia waked over to have a chat. Terence didn't know what to do. He just smiled as wide as he could (which wasn't very far). Then P. Leia and the Flower Queen met Drake and his family. "I don't care if you're royalty, just get away from my girls! Shoo! Shoo!" he said. "Drake, you could have let them stay." said Rebbecca.

Congratulations!

On a very special day, a large log cabin will be presented to someone. Wall-e and Eva are getting a new house! Big Mama and Big Papa are looking everywhere for the perfect furniture. I, Chloe McCown, have been looking for the best furniture on Miniatures .Com. Eva is looking on her laptop, and Wall-e is looking in stores. I think the best way to shop is on the computer. You can stay at home, and be buying Christmas presents! Lightning McQueen came to Chicken Town in between his races and wants to buy Eva a rocking chair. He brought his best friend, Mater, who wants to get Wall-e a hose. Eva is so excited. Her friend, Pert, is buying the best perfume in Ohio. Don't tell Eva!

Ka-Chow!

Lightning McQueen and his friends, Fillmore, Sarge, Sally, Doc Hudson, Mater, Luigi,Guido, Flo, and Ramone have driven all the way from Radiator Springs all the way to Chicken Town! Luigi and Guido are Italian cars. Serena, a Ferrari racing fan like Guido and Luigi, is getting along great with the Italian cars. A Volkswagen bus sips some oil from a colorful oil can and says, "It's organic man!" Mater, a rusty tow truck, goes around meeting Chicken Town. He meets a mechanic, and the two become great friends. An old car sits in the cafe, sipping oil. A little boy yells, "Hey, are you the Hudson Hornet?" A patriotic Jeep drives around town saluting every American flag. Flo and Ramone like driving "low 'n' slow"! A beautiful blue Porche races McQueen all around Chicken Town. Last night, McQueen and his friends said that they are going to stay for a while! McQueen and Mater went to the theater yesterday. An episode from "Betty and Friends" was playing. It was a special song from Cars, and chickens were playing the parts instead of cars. Fillmore is going to sing a song at the concert on Christmas Eve.  I'm helping him write a song for him to sing. Mater is helping too. I'll play the tune for Fillmore to sing, and Mater will  keep the beat for him.

The Purrfect Pet

Fifi, (or Puss 'N' Boots) is living in a most gorgeous home. The Thanksgiving turkey box has a blanket in it, the lid from it is in front of it, a cloth is in front of the hole in the box, and a pine cone with beads on it stands beside the cloth in the hole. I believe I should make a sign for it that says, FIFI'S HOUSE! Every night before he goes to bed, he reads a poem called The Children's Hour. It goes like this,

                            The Children's Hour
                   by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

Between the dark and the daylight,
When the night is beginning to lower,
Comes a pause in the day's occupations,
That is known as the Children's Hour.

I hear in the chamber above me
The patter of little feet,
The sound of a door that is opened,And voices soft and sweet.
From my study I see in the lamplight,Descending the broad hall stair,Grave Alice, laughing Allegra,And Edith with golden hair.
A whisper, and then a silence:Yet I know by their merry eyes,They are plotting and planning togetherTo take me by surprise.
A sudden rush from the stairwayA sudden raid from the hall!By three doors left unguarded,They enter my castle wall!

He only reads that much when it is his bed time. He is such a sweet kitty. He is a bookworm, you know! He reads many other stories! I would love to tell you more about the little kitty, but I have to get through the rest of my day. Fifi says "Hi!"

Domino Dominique

A Dominique has come to Chicken Town! She has a friend who is a barred rock, and they are domino champions! "Do you want to play mahjong, or dominoes?" she asks. She trades things for money, and has bets all over town. The last bet she took was Betty Tyke's. Orville stands near by, cheering Betty on and giving her good  moves. The Barred Rock, Claudette, cheers the Dominique and giving her helpful moves. The Dominique's name is Romona, a quite attractive name. Domino after domino was laid down. Then, it was the last round. Betty almost had 3,000 points, but so  did Romona! Finally, Betty scored 3,001 points! She had won the prestigious game. Romona laid down fifty dollars and said, "Good game, Miss Tyke." Betty told the rest of the Gossip Committee about what happened at the game. Buttercup, Irene Urel, Betty Boop, Adriana, Tilly, Hazel Quopper, Serena, and Franny won games. Della, Blondie, Ellen, Clara, The Puddle Ducks, and Ivy lost games. The rest of Chicken Town didn't make bets. Finally, the Domino Dominique left.

Furniture Craze

As you have probably seen, Wall-e and Eva have bought a new house. The man across the street from Chicken Town let Big Papa have a bunch of doll house furniture! He came home with it just last night! It has a roll-top desk with a REAL cover that opens, a bed with a canopy, a bear-skin rug (COOL!!!), little plastic silverware (ADORABLE!!!!), a piano with paper keys AND music,
a china tea set just like the one I have ( SO realistic!), an old-fashioned wash basin with stool, a white three-piece bathroom set, and a lot more too! Wall-e is writing in his diary on his new roll-top desk. Eva is sitting on the bench, which will probably be the couch if we could make little cushions, admiring all of the furniture (especially the bed). All of us are enjoying the furniture!

Brace Your Teeth!

Tomorrow, Ellen is getting braces on her teeth! Everyone in Chicken Town is talking about it. "Did you hear that Ellen is getting braces?" "Ellen is getting her braces put on tomorrow." "Tomorrow is the day that Ellen goes to the orthodontist to get braces." clucks all around town. Betty was the last to know about it because Ellen hates it when anybody (except herself) brushes her hair. "Betty, I don't mean to interrupt in your story, but, Ellen is getting braces tomorrow." said Betty Boop while Betty was making an "Angel Halo" in her hair. Angel Halo is the monthly special. Ellen is scared about getting her braces. She has an expander in her beak, and the inside part of them is coming off. "Poor thing, having metal in her beak. She doesn't like fermented cabbage or carrots anymore." said Aurora Yoncovey. I hope it doesn't hurt.
