January 2015!!!!!!!
Welcome the New Year!
The wind blowing through town is a chilly force to feel. Up in the trees, the birds sit bundled up in their coats. The frosty air that bites our faces is actually kissing us a Happy New Year. "Hello, New Year! I hoped I would greet you! But I'm afraid this is the last time I'll see you." said Betty. Big Mama says that she should have fewer chickens! Betty Boop feels the same as I do. She wishes that she could go back and start her life over again, and do things better than they were done. She worries about things in bed like me, and she wishes she could sleep! The children are very happy, like usual. Emma got a pottery set from her nephew. She made a pot she named, "Rosebush". It sits on her mother's desk usually, but sometimes it gets moved around. She was sick on New Years Eve, and she couldn't go to the church's watch hour. They watched movies at the church that night. Emma was disappointed, but she is happy. Everyone is happy.
School Days
The kids did enjoy their long vacation, but they hate to be back to school. "We must try to escape this year, or they will be singing 'The ducks are getting fat!' I do not want to be known as FAT!" said Jemima. "You are really fat, sis. Especially when The Monster comes along. You get as fat as an elephant!" said Rebbecca. "Shut up you squeaky duck!" said Jemima, and she bit Rebbecca. "Waaaaaa!" cried Rebbecca. "Don't be so pushy, sweet heart. You could at least tell Becky sorry." said Drake. The kids walking to school watch them have their "family issues" as Drake calls them. Drake reached out his bill and tried to grab a chick. "Those guys are scary." said Sammy. "And Drake needs to learn a lesson on how to treat a lady. And Jemima shouldn't be so mean." Chip went over to her and told her to be nice to Rebbecca. Jemima just snorted and walked away. One thing they don't like about walking to school, the Puddle Ducks.
A Chickenastrophe
Last night, one of the coldest nights, Big Papa went to close the doors for the citizens. He went out, and closed the prison door, but as he walked out, something hid in the fog. He left town, rejecting the little frozen hearts of the women in the hotel. They hid in a corner, on top, below, beside, and separated, from each other. Ivy lay in a corner away from the others. Emma lay in between her parents, and she squeezed out from between her parents. She went to sit beside Ivy, but when Ivy picked up her head and looked fiercely at her, she ran back to get in between her parents. Emma's nose ran, and Ellie's tongue was frozen to a Popsicle. Betty's hair was in large curlers. (And when I say large, I mean LARGE!) Tilly was cold on top of the pile, but Adriana cuddled beside her to make her warm. Big Mama came and saw that the door was open. She was shocked! She looked inside, and everyone was fine. she sighed a long sigh of relief. They all did.
No Snow Day :(
The teacher of ABCDE CHICK said that the kids can't have a snow day. Everyone is very sad that they can't have a snow day. Emma is worried that the snow will be melted before she ever gets done with her school work. Yesterday they only did arithmetic, spelling, and language. Of course they did journal! Leia, Wall-E's children, and a girl named Lisa came to school without telling the teacher. Stella and Luke are coming to school today. Lucky wants to come, but his sister, Cocoabutter doesn't want to go. A newbie in town, Chicken Little, is coming to the school. Chicken Little had a hard time getting to school. The school is going to be busy today!
Hollywood, Here We Come!
Betty's show has been a large success. It has been going so well, that it hit Hollywood! Orville helps allot with the scenes in the different shows. Betty recently received a letter from Hollywood Studios. It said;
Dear Mrs. Tyke,
I do not mean to intrude with my sudden letter, as it would be much more quickly to phone, but I found your show astonishing! You and your town should be proud, because, I would like to do business with you. I mustn't leave Hollywood, for I have much to do, but, if it is convenient, maybe you could come here instead. Your husband, Orville Tyke, does the most glorious paintings and woodwork ever! It is your choice to come here, for I hardly know you, but it would be a pleasure to have you here!
Sincerely, Mr. U. K. Marvin,
Hollywood Studios
Betty nearly fell off of her feet when she started to read this letter. In the envelope was $50,000.00 for the trip to Hollywood. "Orville, pack your bags. We're going to Hollywood!" she said. The ladies are talking about it this very moment.
Off to Hollywood!
Tons of cars are parked in front of Betty Tyke's house. Today she is leaving for Hollywood. The train pulls up to the station. Everyone has tears in their eyes. "Oh, Betty! Oh, Betty! Oh, Betty! can't I come with you? You have three tickets!" shouted Betty Boop, struggling to hold up her bags. "Come, my Betty Boop, come! I shall take you with me!" Betty Boop gave her bags to the man standing beside her. He threw the luggage in the eighth cart and jumped up on the caboose. Betty clung to her husband, and Betty Boop clung to Betty. "ALL ABOARD!" said a man in a little red suit. "Oh dear! I believe I need to lay an egg! I need a nesting box!" said Betty. A woman in the seat behind her said, "I will show you where they are." Betty hopped out of her seat and went to the nesting boxes. "I believe I would like to eat a worm. I'll go to the chef and ask him to fetch me a bag of worms." said Betty Boop. "Bring a bag back for me!" said Orville.
Welcome to Hollywood!
Betty shivers as the Los Angeles Express comes to a stop. "Orville, I feel a little nervous." she said. "What's to be nervous about, dear?" asked Orville. "Los Angeles is such a big, scary town, with many factory farms." replied Betty. They hopped out of their seats, and looked around Los Angeles. They found a bus, and got on. "Please take us to Hollywood." said Orville to the driver of the bus. Before they knew it, they were at the Hollywood bus stop. While they were walking by, they saw many movie actors and actresses. They checked in at the Hollywood Suites. They had a swim in the pool, where they met many other visitors. They decided to go to the movie studio to talk to Mr. Marvin. It shall be a lovely stay.
Fashion Shelby
The sheriff of Chicken Town, and we all feel that, her being a girl dog, she should have a fashion hour. We are thinking about, on Friday, we could have a fashion show! Jemima, Rebbecca, Tilly, Adriana, Ellen, Emma, and Ivy will be in it. We're not sure about Ivy, but I hope she will have the strength to come over. I am thinking about coloring Shelby's collar in. Maybe even her leash! Ellen wants to help me out with the decor. I am planning on getting her outfit ready today. Oh! I almost forgot that Buttercup left me a message to go on here. She said,
"Hi everyone. I just wanted to check in and see how everything is going. I'm going to be at the fashion show, and I just hope that you can make it. It's on the 16th of January, 2015. For all spaghetti fans, we're not having spaghetti. We're having pizza. I wish I could talk longer, but I have house cleaning to attend to. Thank you for reading. From Buttercup."
She wanted me to make sure that everyone who reads this will know that she exists. (She didn't really write that. I just made that up!) I wish that I could talk longer, but I have a busy day. See you on Friday!
Welcome Home, Betty!
The Chicken Town Band stands at the bus stop. The front of the bus appears, and the trumpets and drums and clarinets and saxophones start playing their music. The bus comes to a stop, and the celebrities get off! Colored rice fills the sky, then falls onto the large crowd. "WELCOME HOME BETTY, ORVILLE, AND BETTY BOOP!" everychicken shouts. "We brought home souvenirs!" shouted Betty. Betty Boop ran to hug her friends again. Emma squeezes through the crowd, happily humming her favorite song, "Roses love the sun, Violets love the rain, but I love you!" Betty ran through the crowd, and when she got to the end, she saw Yoyo, her dog. "Oh, Yoyo! how I missed you!" she repeated, leading the crowd toward her house. She scrambled, (not like and egg does) to get all of the chairs she could find. She even used some chairs from the attic, and set them all around the living room. She told the story of when she was in Hollywood.
Quiet Days
Since Betty came home, things have been awfully quiet. The only big news is that the Weasel War 3 ended in a disaster. All of the boys got killed, but that was on Saturday. The only exciting news since then was Sally Rean's birthday, but that was all. Well, what would you expect in quiet little town like this? Leah and Mackenzie Eggman left their lunches on the playground and they fell in the pond. The puppies that the children brought ate them, and the teacher put Mackenzie and Leah in the corner for time out. She said that they were careless. Leah still had a chocolate bar, and Mackenzie had licorice. The kids printed that in their newspaper. The big newspaper is getting thinner every day (except the comics!) Just wait until spring, then we'll be back in business.
Funeral
Last night, when the cold wind blew, a large gust of wind shook every trees boughs to the ground. A silence from the hotel made everyone hang their heads low. Heather Mari was not in her room. She lay completely still in the hospital barn. Not a muscle, nor her breast, moved by the second. Every living chicken was wearing their blackest of black clothes. Up on the hill the little headstone stood. The preacher stood at the headstone, with tears in his eyes. Everyone thanked her for the things that she gave to them or did for them. A young woman was on her knees, crying. "Who is that girl on her knees?" said Martha Tucker. "Why that's Heather's daughter!" replied Helen Kettle. "Who's that man beside her?" asked Martha. "That's Heather's husband. You know him!" said Helen. "Who's that man at the headstone?" asked Martha. "That's the preacher, Martha!!!" said Helen. Betty had her hand on Heather's daughter's shoulder. She had a firm look, though she too was crying.
Duck Problems
Today, at 8:95 in the morning, an emergency call rang throughout the house. I answered the phone, and Rebbecca was crying. "Queen, I am so sorry to disturb you, but a robbery has been committed!" she screamed. I said that I must finish my real job first, but after that, I'm going to the scene of the crime. At their house, Drake was saying, "What heartless creature would steal it? How dare it even think about stealing them! Well whoever it was is going to have to deal with me first. I'll put them underneath the house if they try to steal one of my girls!" "Don't you think that's a little bit rash?" said Jemima. "What!? I do not have a rash my lovely, hugable dear. Why would you even think that I have a rash?" Jemima fell down onto her knees. She cried with even more sadness than before. "What is it dear?" asked Drake rather sharply. "The thieves! Those heartless thieves!" cried Jemima. "What is it my wife?" asked Drake, sweeter than before, but a little bit of meanness in his voice. "They... they took... our... wedding rings! Hoo hoo hoo! BOO hoo hoo!" Jemima sobbed, in a sort of squeaky voice. "Wha!? If I ever see those robbers faces again, I will plant them in a skunks home, and when the skunk goes out for lunch, then I'll jump all over them, and then I'll pickle them with jalapenos, and then, I'll take them out, and put them in a bucket of paint! Pretty good plan, huh, Rebbecca?" Drake said, showing the acts of what he was going to do. "Ummmmmmmmmmmmm... you might want to leave that out and let them just go to jail for a hundred-million years. That would be less harmful to the mean fellows don't you think?" replied Rebbecca. What a case to solve!
