Chicken Town Weekly

Ongoing Trial Continues

This trial began as a simple little quip. Now it's turned into the biggest case since that Affee girl tried to glue herself to the supermarket window. Judge Tilly argues greatly against letting the suspect go. And, if you don't know the whole story, let us tell you. Little Tommie Herbert was a paperboy. He delivered Chicken Town Weekly to every door in town. He is an orphan cockerel who, luckily, skipped over boot camp and went into town. He quickly got a job in the supermarket, where he was a cashier. But he was spotted flirting with a customer. So they fired him. What catches our suspicion, is that he got a job at the Chicken Town Hotel, the building that he robbed recently. He was a housekeeper, an innocent job. But he was caught getting too close to a customer's egg, which got him fired again. So, we hired Herbert, an unlucky cock that just needed someone to believe in him.
But late one night, when we dropped off the papers he was to deliver in the morning, Herbert was nowhere in sight. That was when the police got a call in. There had been a robbery and an assault at the Hotel. As you know, we got our reporters down there as fast as we could. However, much of the evidence remains to be seen.
"We've had several suspects here tonight," said Councilman Betty. "All of them had solid alibi except for Tommie."
With the case still on full haul, we're all wondering who's guilty. We can tell you one thing: It's not going to be pretty.

Whatever the Weather

This week's weather is brought to you by accuweather.com.
Today, October seventeenth, looks like a nice 64 degrees. Tonight looks 39 degrees and clear, not the best time to go camping, folks. Tomorrow looks quite pleasant, with a sunny 68. Thursday's pretty much the same, 70 and mostly sunny. Friday should be 72 and sunny. Saturday's 72 as wall, with partial sun. Sunday's the same, with 73 degrees. And Monday gets cooler with 67, and the sun will come out periodically. So a beautiful week for Chicken Town. Best wishes!

Sports Column

Hello, sports fans! This week must be lucky for you, because MVP Tori Kresh is coming back in today. She's had a rough time since tearing her ACL, a really serious injury for anyone in sports, but she's sprung up fresh as a daisy. She's as ready for the Gordon Grapplers as I am for a bucket of popcorn. For sure, Kresh has a shoe-in for the National Chicken Football Society. If they play at nationals, woo-doggy, we'll be sitting pretty. Go Cluckers!
That's it for sports, folks, I'll be back next week with some deets on the Nevada Nesters!
