Granny's Story Time

Welcome, Baby Jesus! "Granny," said Carrie. "what is Christmas about?" "That is an interesting story, little one. Gather around as I tell you a Christmas story." replied Granny. She read, "One special day, an angel came down from Heaven. A woman named Mary was organizing some pots. The angel said to Mary, 'Do not fear me Mary, for I have great news. The Lord's son must come down to earth, and you, my special woman, will be the one to deliver this gift, and you shall name him Jesus!' Mary married a man named Joseph, who was to be Jesus' father. They went to an inn, but there was no room in the inn. They decided to sleep in a barn. On December 24th, the little baby was born. Shepherds followed a star to him, and wise men gave him gifts of gold. The cows mooed with delight, and doves cooed with praise. The whole world was a ball full of happiness, that day that Christ was born. The End!" Granny explained what a hard life Jesus h...

DECEMBER 2014!!!!!!!!!!

Merry Christmas, and Happy Hanukkah Everyone is getting out their Christmas decorations and Hanukkah traditions. Everyone is getting out their Christmas movies and Christmas songs and Christmas wreaths. " 'Tis the season!" says Betty. Ellen has already started going Christmas shopping with her friends. Betty Boop has a group of 'Angels' walking around the neighborhood, giving the poor chickens hot chocolate and Christmas presents. If they're lucky, the chicks might get a toy to play with! Mostly they give coats, and they make sure they're a little bigger than they should be. Clara doesn't like what Betty Boop has done to the town. There are a few families in town who celebrate Hanukkah. Hazel Quopper enjoys helping out the poor and needy. She likes to sit down and talk with them about the Christmas party she's having. She invited most of the people she met to her party, almost everyone in town is going to be there. She talked to a few Jews on he...

Granny's Story Time

Once Upon a Cock-a-doodle-doo! At the nursery, it was Story Time, and I just happened to be kneeling next to the building. Adriana skimmed through her "Tales of Great Fun" book. "Let me see," she said. "What story shall we read today? Oh! Here's a fun one! 'Romeo and Juliet', by Willy Shakespeare. 'One glorious morning, a pretty pullet named Juliet was walking by the Sheers kingdom.' Now July was a tough little pullet, so don't be surprised at what's next. 'At the gate were two guards with no armor. 'No problem.' said Juliet. She punched the guards in the beak and opened the gate. Failing at opening it up, She walked back home. 'JULIET!' said her loud and mighty father. 'HOW DARE YOU DISOBEY MY WORDS! I WILL SEND YOU TO THE PUNISHMENT ROOM!' Juliet was sent to the punishment room, and a cockerel was inside. 'Hello Juliet. It's me, Romeo.' 'Oh, Romeo! You shouldn't be here!' Juli...

A Sales-Hen Welcome boys, there's a new single gal in town! The bachelors have been flockin' all round that sales-hen. If you're lookin' for a hen, come over to Chicken Town. Gertrude McCluck has been investigating this because she doesn't want anybody flockin' together unless it's fair n' square. She just came over here to see if she can find some of those young cockerels. Her name is Sandy May. She seems to go for Francoise. Is it there, or is it fake? She's been here for a week and I don't know much about her. She's a beautiful German Spitzhauben. The boys prance around her, wondering who she might be.   Francoise Sandy May     pictures from Meyer Hatchery   The Pastors "Who is he? Who is he? Who is he, in the black suit?" they asked. The citizens of Chicken Town have met Pastor Rudy Hopkins and Pastor Benjamin Eggsitter of Catherine Street First Chicken Church of God, bu...

Fun in the Rain Have you ever stayed out in the rain for a little while? It is very fun to do so. One day I went out to town. It was as muddy as ever. I went to the SUPERMARKET. Then I went to the park. I had a really good time. I was talkin to the ladies, took a walk with Drake Puddleduck, and I also went to the GOSSIP COMMITTEE HOME GROUP. Buttercup was there ( Buttercup is the fattest Citizen in town) Betty Boop was outside, and Vira was there too. Lou was there, Katie was there, and even Hazel Quopper ! ( Hazel Quopper is the richest chicken in town! ) Then I stopped at the school called ABCDE  CHICK. Then everyone ran for cover. I shouted " If Drake or one of the Puddleduck's got caught, we would be in humongous trouble. But if one of the other citizens did, we would be just fine." " Are you saying that we have tiny brains?!" asked Regina Harrison. Then it started to rain. I encouraged them to run for cover (well, maybe not all the way) and wondered...

A New Excitement This year, a new writer has come into our town. She is writing, yet to be beloved, a book, called Getting Back Home, by Chloe K. R. McCown. Her mother is writing a book called Elsie. She is also making a book called, The House. Aunt Margaret is a big fan of The House, and waits for every Tuesday. Miss Chloe McCown is also writing about an imaginary duck called, Flatfoot. This is a series that will also be beloved by young readers.   Election Season We will have an exciting election this year. We have to vote on a new queen, deputies, sheriff, mayor, and banker. There are lots of people to choose from. I bet that you are all excited about who will be the new sheriff. I have been sheriff for three years now, and it is time to pick a new one. We all have our fingers crossed, whether we're from town, or out of town. Bob Smith wants to be the new sheriff, but I'm sure that Shelby will become sheriff. I am quite sad about losing my job, but maybe, just ma...

The End of the Line I, the sheriff, have done an amazing feat that included a lot of feet. It is not an evil plan, nor will it kill anyone. What we have done, is we confined the murderers. We usually take a big stick, and let the murderers be free for a good shake-down. We freshen the prisoners water and collect their gifts. Then we take our sticks again, and march them in. We are planning a delicious Christmas dinner that the prisoners will be VERY handy in, if you know what I mean. Yes, we will have a delicious duck dinner. We have our hearts set on buying a few Pekin ducks. Big Mama will let me chase the prisoners all around the barnyard. I love it because they deserve it. (Really, they do  deserve it.) And their stupid little noises. I mostly try to chase Jemima. But that "I think I'm all that" Drake keeps her under his wing. I really can't wait until Christmas dinner. Indians in Town Citizens of Chicken Town, do not fear, there are Indians on our land. ...

The Murderers of Chicken Town If you are interested in drama, read this article. One rainy, miserable day, an indecent struck our hearts with fear. In front of the Cafe, we found a dear citizen named, Cindy. Everyone came dancing over in tears, especially Cindy's sister, Bellinda. She looked at the dark sky. It started to rain and thunder. Everyone went home, sad as ever. All her family changed into something black, even her friends did this sad scene. Except for the Puddleduck family. They boasted to one another, "I am better than you. If Drake could kill that punk bare handed, so could I!" Drake smiles and shakes his bottom. (The more he shakes his bottom, the more his pants fall off!) Don't tell him I said the words in brackets. Anyway, he had done it many times before. He had a secret plan too. He would kill all the normal citizens and DUCKS would take over Chicken Town, making it Duck Town! Which is why Big Momma and I decided to turn the gate of the Puddledu...

The Nursery Do you have lots of children on your wings? Well suffer no more. Take them to Granny's Nursery! Granny will take care of them 24-7! She has a nice big yard for the little ones to play in, she has a special formula that can help them digest their greens, and she sings songs to them in the middle of storms. Your kids will love it! If you have any babies, she will keep them in a corner away from the older kids. She is actually a writer, but she needs to raise money to have her books published. She has no family except her naughty brothers, who moved to Tokyo. She is really happy doing her jobs. she still gets sad about her husband. He died in the war. He once said  "If I fight for my town, then Adrianna and I will be able to raise a strong beautiful family." Granny always tells stories about her life when she was young. She wouldn't scare the little babes, but they asked a lot of mysterious questions. She is always worried when the little kids leave. But s...

Get to meet the Citizens Here in Chicken Town we have allot of important people. Drake, Jemima and Rebbecca are the actors of the Old Grimy Water Circus. Just in case you didn't know, they are ducks. Not chickens. Betty runs the salon that is in front the tractor door in Chicken Town. First you will see the Chicken Hotel that is a big white building that the citizens sleep in at night. It is perfectly safe when Fifi and Speckles are here to the rescue. Their former names are Pussnboots and Blackshadow. If you didn't know, the circus is south of the hotel. Then slimy and dirty is the Chicken Cafe. This is where they chill and wait for the Charity Food people to come by. Then if you go west and turn to the north, you are very likely to find the Chicken Supermarket. Then go south and you will find the Morning to My Babe Restaurant that is very much like Apple Bee's. Then go west again and you will find the Chicken Town Police Office. You will find Baxter Futter. He...
